Phillips Coaching works with individuals striving for better results in business and quite often, in their life in general.  Our clientele includes corporate middle/executive level management and smaller/mid size business owners.  Some of our clients come to coaching based on a transition or change that has occured (or will occur) in their business, their team or in their life in general.  

How will coaching sessions work?

  • Typically,  we meet with or speak to clients via phone once per week, three times a month for 40 minutes per session
  • In between sessions, there is some form of "homework", which can be in the form of "take action items" or discovery/reflection/considerations
  • We offer unlimited email communication and email coaching support.
  • We will utilize a online management coaching system to support you.
  • As a client, you decide what you want to know, and as coach we facilitate learning by providing accountability, feedback, helpful resources, or useful models.  Assessments may be used if appropriate
  • Coaching is all about what you want to accomplish. Coaching sessions are primarily focused on learning and achievement
  • We are a team, accomplishing more together than we could alone
  • We coach internationally and most coaching is done over the phone so distance is not a factor
  • Together we will discover what works best for you. I have methods that will help you get at the right answers for you and a myriad of experience to share in the worlds of coaching (mentoring, life and business), career/life transitions, large corporate entities, and small business

The Discovery session

One of our first sessions is called a “discovery” session and will be longer than the rest (1 to 1 ˝ hours). During this discovery session we will design our coaching relationship and create a framework for values and goals you would like to honor in this process. Every session following this will be your agenda and you will be supported, encouraged, championed and challenged towards your growth and fulfillment.

CORPORATE COACHING  

Corporate coaching supports both new and seasoned mid level and senior executives who know that in order to respond effectively to increasingly complex situations and objectives they need to grow their leadership skills. In some cases we focus on changing specific behaviors that are causing unwanted results. In others the work is more developmental than corrective. Optimistic and results-oriented, Phillips Coaching is a powerful service to improve how you lead others to achieve shared, organizational goals.

Participant Focus and Results -- Phillips Coaching is results-oriented.

Work at this level focuses on:
  • enhancing your understanding of what others need from you and how it differs from what they are getting, adding new skills to meet those needs
  • enhancing already effective leader behaviors and, eliminating ineffective behaviors, letting those you lead evaluate your progress and success (leadership effectiveness can only be measured and determined by the people being led) —all for one purpose: to achieve organizational results.

At some point in a leader's career, it becomes apparent, either because they came to the awareness on their own or someone told them, that what got them to where they are will not get them where they want to go. Some crucial leader behaviors must change. When they are highly committed to making the necessary improvements, they become Phillips Coaching clients.

 

Meetings are held in a combined in-person and conference call format, depending on location and schedule demands. Our results-oriented framework includes:

  • Information obtained directly from the people you lead and other important stakeholders via both interviews and direct observation
  • DISC-based personality assessments Leadership style assessments
  • Exploring insights from best practices and academic research
  • Developing new knowledge about leadership generally, and a deep understanding of the new behaviors others are asking of you
  • Deliberate practice. Behavior change is not merely an intellectual event—adult learning takes time and continued practice
  • Creating a clear definition of success so stakeholder needs are not only identified and met. Your changes have to be obvious to them. They must recognize that you have changed.
